Help the Yafa Palestinian Dabkeh Troupe in Berlin

Palestinian youth in Berlin are working through culture to keep their connection to their homeland alive, as refugees and exiles. A group of Palestinian young people are launching a new dabkeh dance troupe, the Yafa Popular Arts Troupe, to perform traditional and creative Palestinian folkloric dance.

The city of Berlin is home to tens of thousands of Palestinians. The dance troupe aims to provide an opportunity for more young people to become involved, learn dabkeh and promote Palestinian art and culture in Germany.

This new troupe needs support! Many of the members are Palestinian refugees who are relatively newly arrived in Germany. The performers need costumes and performance clothes as well as the ability to secure practice space.

Your contributions can help Palestinian youth in Germany develop their cultural knowledge and creative expression. The troupe’s first public performance will take place on Sunday, January 20!

فرقة يافا للفنون الشعبية : فرقة فلسطينية مستقلة للدبكة والفنون الشعبية الفلسطينية تأسست حديثاً في مدينة برلين بجهود ذاتية لمجموعة من الشباب اللاجئين الجدد من سوريا ولبنان وغيرها . تسعى ” فرقة يافا ” إلى تطوير قدراتها الفنية من خلال الاعتماد على الذات ودعم افراد وجمعيات الجالية الفلسطنية والعربية من اجل تعزيز حضور التراث الفلسطيني المقاوم في اوساط الاجيال الجديدة وداخل المجتمع الالماني بشكل عام . كما تؤمن الفرقة بضرورة التمسك بالهوية الوطنية الفلسطينية وابرازها من خلال الفن الشعبي الفلسطيني كسلاح ثقافي فعال في الدفاع عن الحقوق الاصيلة للشعب الفلسطيني وتراثه الوطني .
